Hong Kong Pop 60+

Project Description

The Hong Kong Heritage Museum is a place which exhibits the history, art, diverse culture and heritage of Hong Kong and the world. It is located beside the Shing Mun River in Sha Tin, Hong Kong.

This exhibition, titled Hong Kong Pop 60+ illustrates the evolution of Hong Kong popular culture from the end of the Second World War to the early 2000s and features more than 1,000 exhibits. A story told through three generations focusing on the entertainment mediums of music, film, television and radio programmes as well as comics and toys. Visitors are guided through an interactive journey of these five distinct themes representing Hong Kong culture through the ages.

Gallagher & Associates (Asia) were appointed in 2018 as the Exhibition Design Architect and the Project Manager to oversee the construction delivery. Due to Covid-19 travel restrictions, Gallagher & Associates (Asia) were unable to send their project manager to Hong Kong. Through word of mouth and great industry reputation, our Founder Florence was appointed as the local project manager to realise their design.

“I feel honoured to be part of the team. This is a special project for the people of Hong Kong. A first permanent gallery which tells a unique story and showcasing the very essence of Hong Kong creative pop culture. It brings back lots of fond memories and make one feel proud of this artistic achievement which influenced worldwide”
